Details on GENESIS – BMW From the Beginning, Presented by the Werk Shop
Friday, May 21, 2021 will be the FINAL day to see an exceptional collection of BMWs from the beginning to 1965, all in one place at the BMW CCA Foundation Museum. We have 20 rare cars from the 1930 3/15 HP DA2 Cabriolet to a 1965 3200 CS. We also have four BMW motorcycles. You may have seen one or two of these vehicles at events around the country, but now you get to see ALL of them in one place!
– The oldest BMW in the US
– The only known EMW’s in the US
– Classics like the 507, 328, 327 and 315
– An Isetta and a 600
– Motorcycles from 1927 to 1949 including an R75 from WW2
– A bevy of aluminum V8 powered cars from an era when nobody else was making aluminum V8’s except BMW
Admission includes access to a great audio tour. If you bring some earbuds/headphones, you can listen to the audio tour on the cars and motorcycles through your smartphone.
If you want to hear some of those engines, we’ll be firing them up. While these cars are beautiful to look at, they sound pretty cool too! Throughout the day we’ll be opening the doors and running some of them while providing nice photo opportunities.
You will also have the opportunity to meet Jackie Jouret, author of the GENESIS exhibit book. Jackie will be available to sign all our exhibit books.
Each guest receives a goodie bag of GENESIS Exhibition collectibles.
And of course, GENESIS exhibition books, posters, and merchandise will all be available to feed your BMW obsession.
GENESIS: BMW From the Beginning is presented by The Werk Shop and generously supported by Yokohoma, Classic BMW, CocoMats / Furstil, and BMW Classic Car Club of America.
Details on outdoor activities at the Foundation
– We have free parking for about 400 cars. Typically it’s quite an amazing array of guest BMWs on the grass.
– Music will be provided to create a nice atmosphere.
– Food Trucks will be serving lunch onsite. Between 11:00am and 2:00pm, you will have the ability to purchase lunch from top-quality food trucks parked onsite (lunch is not included in your admission fee). There are also several restaurants located at exits 63 and 54 on Interstate 85.
You get the picture – it’s fun! And it doesn’t stop there…
COVID-19 Information:
The safety of our guests, staff, and volunteers, is critical. For outdoor portions of the event, masks and social distancing will be applied. For indoor portions of the event, museums have installed a number of safety features to help protect everyone.
For the BMW CCA Foundation Museum – Though state and local rules permit half occupancy, we wish to be extra-cautious and are limiting attendance at any given time. We will allow 10 people to enter every 15 minutes. When you register, you will have to pick a time slot for yourself/your group. In addition, we ask you to maintain social distancing while visiting the Museum, and we require all guests—as well as staff and volunteers—to wear a mask while inside the building. If you don’t have a mask, we will be happy to provide one. Regretfully, we cannot allow anyone to enter the museum without one.
And, our restrooms are closed to the public, though we have provided temporary restrooms outside the building for your use.
Thank you for understanding, for helping us keep everyone safe!
FAQs
You’re charging admission for this event. ($30 for adults, $15 for kids 6-17, 6 & under is free) Where does my money go?
The BMW CCA Foundation is a nonprofit organization and exists only through the generosity of its donors. Your admission fee will help to sustain the CCA Foundation Museum & Archive, and it will also help fund Tire Rack Street Survival, a national car-control training program for teenage drivers. Our admission fee will be used to operate your BMW CCA Foundation Museum & Archive, the largest in the Americas. In an average year, the Foundation, our volunteers and supporting organizations trained more than 2,800 young drivers. The Foundation’s programs are donor-supported. They don’t happen without you, so we’re grateful for your support!
